Scenes from my USA Roadtrip I recently took three Sigma lenses and my Sony a7V on a road trip around the United States. My goal for the trip was to capture more video. I am such a photo focused person, so dedicating a kit to capture video was my challenge. I wanted to make sure that while capturing video, I was getting unique perspectives. I chose one wide, one standard zoom, and one telephoto lens to try to achieve this. I picked the Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG | Art Lens as my wide lens because it's the widest non fish eye lens that I could find. I picked the Sigma 28-45mm F1.8 DG DN | Art Lens because it's the full frame version of a legendary Sigma video lens for APS-C which is the Sigma 18-35mm F1.8 DC HSM | Art Lens. And finally, I chose the Sigma 135mm F1.4 DG | Art Lens as my telephoto to be able to capture more compressed shots with the blurriest background possible if I needed it. All the lenses I picked have a wide and fast aperture to make sure I could capture during my favorite time of the day which is blue hour. Photographing the Wave with the Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG | Art Lens One dream location to photograph of mine has been the Wave. It's something that looks fake and too perfect to exist in real life. So when I got my permit to visit, I wanted to make sure I could capture as much of the Wave as possible. For that reason I took the widest rectilinear lens I could find, Sigma 14mm F1.4 DG | Art Lens. This lens was absolutely perfect for this location. I was able to capture the breathtaking rock formations and patterns from many different angles. I was super pleased to know that this lens although being ultra wide, is extremely sharp and offers minimal distortion. The whole day I had a ton of fun getting high and low with the lens to get different perspectives of this dream location. Ultimately, the heat made me have to leave this location instead of spending all day, but I hope to return with this same set up one day.
