Environmental sustainability
ShopVision is a software company. We don’t run factories, fleets, or warehouses — our product is intelligence, built from data and delivered through the cloud. That makes our environmental footprint small by design. We intend to keep it that way, and to shrink it as we grow.
Where we stand
We support the objectives of the Paris Agreement, including limiting global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Our goal is to reach net zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations, energy use, and supply chain by 2040, using commercially reasonable efforts to significantly reduce emissions along the way.
We won’t dress this up as more than it is. A company of our size and shape doesn’t carry a heavy footprint — but the choices we make now set the defaults we scale with. So we choose deliberately.
What that looks like in practice
Cloud-first by design. Our platform runs entirely on major cloud providers that have made public commitments to renewable energy and net-zero operations. We don’t own or operate data centers, and as our infrastructure partners decarbonize, so does the platform that runs on them.
Engineered for efficiency. Wasted compute is wasted energy. We continuously optimize our systems — right-sizing workloads, archiving cold data, retiring redundant processing — because efficient engineering and a lower footprint are the same discipline.
A minimal physical footprint. We’re a lean, distributed team. Collaboration happens online by default, which keeps office space, commuting, and business travel low.
Mindful procurement. Where practical, we favor suppliers and service providers with credible public environmental commitments of their own.
How this evolves
We’re early, and we’d rather say that plainly than pad this page with targets we haven’t earned. As ShopVision grows, we review these practices and expect this program to become more specific over time. We’ll keep this page current as it does.
