InstagramLocal Legends: Japan Edition—Part II Meet Nao, chef of Julia, a restaurant named after her mother and built around the same sense of warmth she grew up with. Her cooking is rooted in seasonality, Japanese ingredients, and the people behind them—from knowing the producers she sources from to carrying their stories onto the plate. For Nao, the goal goes beyond a memorable dish. It’s about creating a feeling that stays with you after the meal is over. “More than anything, I want it to be a place they want to come back to.” Sound on to hear a snippet from our conversation.

Indigo is one of the oldest dyes in the world, a deep, natural blue worked into fabric for centuries, and Japan's relationship to it runs deeper than most, generations of artisans devoted to perfecting it. That kind of dedication is what stuck with us, and it shows up throughout this set: the Bayshore Bandana print in rich repetition, deeper texture, and pieces that feel lived-in from the start. Fall, inspired by Japan.

A few frames from Japan. New arrivals, worn along the way. Relaxed shirts, easy layers, and the pieces we kept reaching for throughout the trip. Train platforms, side streets, long stretches by the water—fall, inspired by Japan.

Good denim goes a long way. Our latest edit brings together new washes, relaxed fits, and regenerative denim made with restorative farming practices in mind. The pairs you’ll reach for now, and keep wearing well beyond the season.

Local Legends: Japan Edition—Part I Meet Masatoshi Ono, pro surfer, S.League chairman, and someone who has spent a lifetime learning to read the ocean. For Masatoshi, the ride starts before he ever touches the water. A few minutes of warming up, meditation, and bringing his focus back to center are all part of the preparation. From there, it’s less about control and more about instinct, working with the energy of the wave instead of trying to force it. “When you are in the zone, there is only that moment.” Sound on to hear a snippet from our conversation.

Earlier this summer, we headed to @autocamp in the Catskills for a few days outside. Thoughtful design, plenty of room to roam, and a chance to slow things down. With a long weekend ahead, consider this your excuse to spend a little more time outdoors.

We took the coastal train out of Tokyo toward Japan's surf coast, chasing breaks and quiet mornings, and remembered why we never want to rush a trip like this. So we packed light, dressed easy, and let the weekend run long.

It started with an obsession, decades of Japanese publications poring over every detail of classic American style. This collection takes familiar pieces like the Oxford shirt, chino, and blazer and reimagines them through bespoke fabrics.

Meet the Seafarer Chino. We took the structure of a classic American chino and gave it a new shape: higher rise, front pleats, more room through the leg. We designed the pockets to sit flat and keep the look from feeling too dressed up, and picked an organic cotton that stays soft without losing its shape wear after wear. Layer it, tuck it, roll the cuffs. We're excited to bring a modern take to such an iconic style.

Japan moves differently, and we noticed. Trains cutting through the city, bamboo groves gone quiet, a torii gate sitting alone in the water. We came home with more than a collection, we came home with a new way of seeing things. This is where the season really began.

Japan has always been a place that inspires us. The smallest details reveal something more, the care in how a meal is plated, even the stillness of a temple at dawn. Everywhere we turned, we found an unbelievable devotion to detail: artisans mastering their craft, rich indigo dye traditions, meticulously woven textiles, and a thriving local surf culture. It's all about mixing intentional craftsmanship with that easygoing, laid-back spirit—built for coastal escapes, city streets, and everywhere in between. Our Fall Collection: brings that energy home. Think rich indigo dyes, old-world fabric techniques, home-spun knitwear, and effortless tailoring designed for wherever your next adventure takes you.
