BETTER THAN YO’ MOMMA’S CHILI 🌶️ (SOUPTEMBERish Recipe 2) 😉 My award-winning chili recipe in combo with my mamas OG! Made with tons of flavor, and the BEST toppings. The sweet cornbread croutons + lime-zested sour cream + crispy bacon are what take this one over the top. INGREDIENTS Chili • 1 lb @butcher_box lean ground beef • 1 lb spicy or mild ground sausage • 1 large yellow onion, diced • 1 bell pepper, diced • 4 cloves garlic, minced • 1 tbsp jarred minced garlic • 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes • 1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes, with juice • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained & rinsed • 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained & rinsed • 3 tbsp chili powder • 1 tbsp ground cumin • 2 tsp dried oregano • 1 tbsp smoked paprika • 1½ tbsp brown sugar • Salt & pepper, to taste • Cayenne pepper, optional, for extra heat Toppings • @butcher_box Crispy bacon in the oven at 400 degrees until crispy • Sweet cornbread croutons ( store bought sweet cornbread cubed, tossed in olive oil and a pinch of salt, 400 degrees until golden and crisp) • Sour cream + fresh lime zest/ juice INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef and sausage over medium-high heat, breaking it up as it cooks. 2. Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until the vegetables begin to soften. 3. Add all of the seasons here. Stir well and let the seasonings cook with the meat and vegetables for 1–2 minutes to really bring out the flavor. 4. Add the crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes with their juice, black beans, and kidney beans drained and rinsed. Stir everything together. 5. Bring to a simmer, then reduce the heat and let the chili simmer for at least 30–45 minutes, stirring occasionally. The longer it simmers, the better it gets! 6. Serve hot and load it up with crispy bacon, sweet cornbread croutons, and sour cream topped with fresh lime zest. #chili #fallrecipes #butcherboxpartner

Cod doesn’t need a marinade, extensive prep or even a plan. Butter, panko, an air fryer - dinner’s done and fish stops being a “maybe next week” meal. Restock your freezer below🐟 https://www.butcherbox.com/products/cod?member=true #cod #fishdinner #proteinmeal #panko #easydinnerideas

Cozy Fall Chuck Roast 🍂 Ingredients * 24 oz @butcher_box beef chuck roast * Salt, to taste * Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste * Avocado oil, for searing * 1 small sweet yellow onion, sliced * 1 teaspoon minced garlic * ¼ teaspoon cardamom * ¼ teaspoon cinnamon * ¼ teaspoon black pepper * ¼ teaspoon cumin * ¼ teaspoon coriander * 2 bay leaves * 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar * 2 cups water Instructions 1. Preheat oven to 325°F. 2. Pat the chuck roast completely dry with paper towels. Season generously on all sides with salt and freshly cracked black pepper. 3. Heat a Dutch oven over high heat and add enough avocado oil to coat the bottom. Once very hot, sear the roast on all sides until deeply browned and a crust has formed. Remove the roast and set aside. Do not wipe out the Dutch oven. 4. Add the sliced onion to the same pot and sauté for 1–2 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds. 5. Add the cardamom, cinnamon, black pepper, cumin and coriander. Stir everything together and cook for another 30 seconds to toast the spices. 6. Return the chuck roast to the Dutch oven. Add the bay leaves, apple cider vinegar and water. 7. Cover tightly with the lid and transfer to the oven. Cook at 325°F for about 2½–3 hours, or ( 1 hour per pound of meat) and the roast is fork-tender and easily pulls apart. If it isn’t tender yet, continue cooking in 15–30 minute increments!!! Even if internal temperature is good if it’s still tough keep cooking 8. Let the roast rest for 10–15 minutes, then shred or pull apart with a fork. Serve with the flavorful onions and pan juices. #fallrecipes #butcherbox #chuckroast

We have high standards for school meals. So should you. Mike and Mara recently sat down to discuss the state of school meals meat and seafood in America, the benefits of buying local, and how investing in school food professionals makes a difference. We’re so excited to partner together over the next three years by investing $150,000 in the Chef Ann Foundation’s work to transform school food standards, connecting with values-aligned producers and farmers, eliminating barriers and bringing more fresh, healthy meals to students across the country📚✏️🍎 #schoolmeals #scratchcooking #healthymeals #schooltime #schoollunch
