FacebookHouse Bill 1056 took effect on September 1. Inside Texas, gold and silver can now legally settle a debt. The bill is specific. The metal has to be stamped with its own weight and purity, and it cannot carry anything suggesting a government minted it. Nobody can be forced to offer it or accept it either. The rest of the law takes effect May 1, 2027. From that date the state comptroller is allowed, not required, to run electronic payments backed by metal held in the Texas Bullion Depository.

Another month, another massive Treasury buyback. $12.5 billion this time. Following the $15 billion record-setting buyback in April. The U.S. government is now routinely stepping in to repurchase its own debt at a scale we haven’t seen before. This is happening while debt-to-GDP sits above 100% for the first time since World War II and 30-year yields remain above 5%.

Gold just saw $7.3 billion in inflows last week, its largest since October 2025. After months of outflows and a pullback off the highs, capital is rotating back into gold in size. BofA flags the drivers: a shifting rate and dollar outlook, and rising demand for gold as a hedge against currency risk and macro uncertainty. And this isn't a one-off. The four-week average has climbed too, which points to sustained demand rather than a single spike. Big money is stepping back in 👀

This week, it was algorithmic price selloff jawboning by Kevin Warsh and a bunch of tough-talking, meaningless lines that mean next to nothing when bond and financial markets start earthquaking again. In the first few minutes of his speech, new Fed chair Warsh talked about hikes, like literally walking around Jackson Hole with past fiat Fed heads. An obvious tell: he was triggering the algo trading bots with the keywords 'hikes' and 'hike' to ensure his speech would be perceived as hawkish. And for the short term, that is what he got. Typical hawkish algo bot selling in perceived risk assets. Spot gold, the fiat USD popped, and thus the fiat yen weakened well above the US Treasury intervention to start this month; the 30 yr bond took little time to see the canard. The silver and gold markets fell on Warsh algo selloff to close this week. The spot silver price closed at $66.22 oz bid. The spot gold price finished the week at $4456 oz bid. The spot gold-silver ratio ended the week basically flat at 67. I am still buying bullion. Earlier today, I was on the SilverTrade YouTube channel. Two of the rings were lying partly visible in the soil beside a forest track. The other four came out of the same sweep, three of them about fifteen metres away. Nordjyske Museer calls it Denmark’s third-largest Viking-age gold find, 762.5 grams, intact after a thousand years in the ground.

A man in Denmark spotted two gold arm rings lying partly visible in the soil beside a farm track. No metal detector. Archaeologists swept the site and found four more. Six solid gold arm rings, all intact, 762.5 grams. Nordjyske Museer calls it the third-largest Viking-age gold find in Danish history. The rings date to roughly 900 to 1000, the years Denmark was first becoming one kingdom.

Silver traded near $1.29 an ounce in 1964. Congress took silver out of the quarter the following year, and once the price cleared $1.38 the metal in the old quarters was worth more than the quarters themselves.
