"A lot of people just assumed the SV650 and the V-Strom 650 would go away, but Suzuki has invested in the platform," said Avery Innis, who worked at Suzuki for more than 30 years before retiring recently. "I'm just happy the SV is continuing," said Garrett Kai, principal of Suzuki's external public relations agency, who recalled going to the introduction of the original SV650 in 2000 as a member of the motorcycle media. • @marcmarquez93 seizes control in the championship chase. Following a highside crash at the French Grand Prix, MM93's title defense seemed all but doomed. Now, a double victory at the San Marino Grand Prix hoists the seven-time MotoGP champ to the top of the 2026 standings. • @marcobez72 crashes out of the lead in Sunday's Grand Prix. The Aprilia Factory rider finished second in Saturday's Sprint Race, but the pressure proved too much in the GP. While crashes have derailed Bez's championship campaign, he's only 33 points behind Márquez and Aprilia stablemate Jorge Martín. • Although Marc Márquez and @89jorgemartin are currently tied on points (274), the former has recorded more wins in 2026. That tiebreaker pushes Martín down to second place in the standings. With just one Grand Prix victory to his credit this season, Martín must adopt a more aggressive mindset for the remaining races. •Just eight races to go. Ducati and Márquez finally find themselves at the top of the standings. Is the title race all but decided?
